Abstract

An article eg of wearing apparel or a sleeping bag, has walls provided with at least one but preferably a plurality of pockets which can be filled by the user to provide insulation. The pockets can be filled with eg air or a liquid, via suitable valves. The pockets preferably form a honeycomb structure, and specific examples of articles are an anorak, a long coat, a pair of trousers, leggings, a shirt, a vest, and a sleeping bag.

Description

The Descriptian Pocket which can be filled This invention relates to a pocket or pockets which may be filled to provide insulation.
Insulation is available at present. It is, however, often bulky. This invention allows a decrease in size of the object when the insulating properties are not required.
According to the present invention there is provided an object having within its wall one pocket which may be filled by the user to provide insulation.
Certain specific embodiments of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows in 2 perspectives one possible design of an ancrak.
Figure 2 shows in perspective another possible design of an anorak.
Figure 3 Shows in cross-section one possible design of a pocket or pockets.
Figure 4 shows in perspective and in cross-section one possible design which could incorporate a valve or similar mechanism.
Figure 5 shows in perspective and in cross-section another possible design which could incorporate a valve or similar mechanism.
Figure 6 shows in cross-section one possible design in which an additional material or substance could be included in the design.
Figure 7 shows in perspective one possible design in which there are numerous pockets.

Claims (2)

  1. The Claims
    (1) An object having within its wall at least one pocket which can be filled by the user to provide insulation.
    (2) An article according to claim (1) in which the pocket is filled with air to provide the insulation - see for example Figure 4, Figure 5, Figure 7.
    (3) An article according to claim (1) in which the pocket is filled with air in order to hold the surface of the object apart and thereby to provide insulation - see for example Figure 3.
    (4) An article according to claim (1) in which the pocket is filled with liquid to provide the insulation - see for example Figure 4, Figure 5, Figure 7.
