Abstract
A bracket is provided to prevent the removal (either by vandals or wind) of fence panels of the type which have their vertical edges engaged in the channels of H-section posts. The bracket has a channel section engaged over the top edge of the panel and an L-shaped flange extending from one side of the channel and secured to the post. <IMAGE>
Description
P.G.D. FENCE CLAMP 'Waney lap' type fencing is typically used in conjunction with, concrete 'H' Section posts, in gardens etc, as general purpose fencing.
The 'Waney lap' type fencing, which comes in the form of wooden panels, can be stolen by sliding them vertically upwards and out of the groove's in the concrete posts.
The panels can also be blown out by gale force winds etc.
The 'P.G.D. Fence Clamp', when slid over the top of the wooden panel and secured to the concrete post is an aid to prevent these common causes of fence damage.
('Waney lap' is a generalisation of the description of panels made in the format that compliments the 'H' section posts).
Claims (5)
1 A fence clamp, comprising of an 'L' shaped section adapted to be secured to the corner of a concrete 'H' section post, and a 'U' section adapted to hold down, close over and restrict in a secure way, wooden fencing panels of the type used with concrete 'H' section posts.
2 A fence construction consisting of 'H' section concrete posts and fencing panels the posts of which are set vertically in the ground so as to have the grooves in the posts facing each other and the wooden fencing panels being slid down into these grooves. The fencing panels being prevented from upward vertical movement by means of a fence clamp consisting of a 'U' section that is placed over the top of, and slightly down the sides of the fence panel, the 'U' section being held in place by an 'L' section of the same clamp which is contoured and fits to the corner of the post, this 'L' section being secured to the post by screws, as described in Claim 2, and thus the fence clamp is attached to the post and restricts the wooden panel without being actually fixed to the panel in any way, this being so as not to weaken the wooden panel.
3 A fence clamp consisting of an 'L' section and a 'U' section that is fitted to a 'H' section concrete post in such a way that the 'U' section on the clamp, closes down and restricts a fence panel after it has been slid into place in that post.
4 A fence construction consisting of 'H' section concrete posts and wooden panels that after being constucted have fitted to the posts a clamp which is a means of restricting the panels from movement, the clamp consisting of a 'U' section and an 'L' section.
5 A fence clamp substantially as hereinbefore particularly described and as llustrated in the accompanying drawings.
