Abstract

Auxiliary parts 3 are introduced into cardboard boxes during the assembly operation by apparatus comprising two symmetrical parts (Fig.1), each one of which comprises an inclined loader 1 facing the other, and angled towards an assembly countermold 18, piles of accessory laminae 3 being located in loaders 1 and removed one at a time by suction mechanisms 10 on arms 8 which then swing to a position, Fig.2, in which the laminae are facing each other for introduction into the assembly countermold 18. <IMAGE>

Description

SLP?LYINC APRRATUS OF AUXILIARY LAMINAP.. PARTS OF BOXES IN BOX ASSEMBLY MACHINES As is expressed by the title, the object of the invention is a supplying apparatus cf auxiliary laminar parts cf boxes, in box assembly machines.
The purpose thereof is inferred from it use, since there are cardboard boxes which need auxiliary parts which are not coupled to the assembly machine, but rather after the box has been assembled and done in a manual operation.
Diverse box assembly machines are known ir. the prior art coming from a cardboard lamna which has been provided with cleavages and punchings which delimit parts of the box.
The lama is suLmezted to the action of a forming mold which descends vertically and pushes the bottom of the box against some molding walls by virtue of whose action the walls and sides acquire their vertical position.
When an attempt is made to reinforce the walls of the sides with auxiliary extensions, they have to be folded by hand if they are solidly connected to the sides or front or else they are also coupled by hand, if said parts are independent.
This solution implies operations which are costly in time and manpower, in order to leave a box in conditions of use.
The invention tries to solve said problems by incorporating to the assembly machines a supplying apparatus of auxiliary laminar parts so that in an operative step of the mold, immediate to its action on the lamina which is to form the box, laterally receives the accessory laminar parts and couples them inside the box in their definitive position.
The apparatus comprises two inclined loaders placed opposite each other and incident towards the countermold, whose loaders receives piles of accessory laminae which remain supported on raised parts of the side walls also in an inclined position.
Underneath the loaders there are two twin mechanisms which resolve into two arms whose ends are provided with corresponding vents which acquire a movement of approach to the bases of the piles of laminar bodies and separates them unitarily, displacing them until they face each other and backing them to the sides of the molds.
In this point the descent of the mold starts with the coupled laminar accessory parts while the vents invert their position for a following feeding.
The mold has above the coupling point of the accessory laminar parts some raised parts which push said laminae.
The apparatus also comprises an accessory countermold part which by means of a pneumatic cylinder advances to hold against the mold the laminar accessory parts supplied by the vent and pre-formed b the accessory part of the countermold.
The operating mechanisms of the vents comprises two parallel levers of different lengths rested articulately at one end on a support base, which is mov able to regulate the position of the whole with regard to the mold.
The longer lever supports on its end the rotation'axis of the vents and is provided with a pulley which, through a transmission, moved from a motor held by the other lever and a pneumatic cylinder determines the rotation of the vents.
a.
The drawings that are accomp, nied as an illustration of this specification show the following: Figure 1 represents a front elevation diagram of the supplying apparatus of the accessory laminar parts in assembly position on the carboard box assemblying machine.
In the represented figure the vents are in the position of removing the laminae from the loaders.
Figure 2 also represents a diagram of one of the mechanisms of the supplier in which the vents are in the position of coupling of the accessory laminae to the mold.
Figure 3 represents the top view of a mold upon two of whose opposite sides the corresponding accessory laminae of the boxes have been backed.
In accordance with the above drawings it is clearly understood that the supplying apparatus is made up of two symmetric devices, each one of which comprises a loader -1in inclined arrangement, U-shaped, arranged in symmetric opposition and incident towards the mold -2- position.
Each loader receives a package of accessory laminae -3which are sorted on the bottom -4- and held by raised parts -5- of the side walls facing each other.
Below the loaders there Is the mechanism composed in each case of two parallel levers -6- and -7- of different lengths. In the end of the longest lever -7- the support and tilting shaft of a part -8- to which an arm -9- is joined which has in'its end a vent -10- which is responsible for removing unitarily the laminae -4- through the bottom part of the loader package.
In t the til irg s-a'~ he ver.t there is a pulley -11- which is related by transmission -12- to a motor -13- located in the erd of the lever -5- which is moed by means of a hvraul;e cylinder -14.- This movement determines the tilting of the levers on their support in the support -15shared by the two levers and by the hydraulic cylinder-14.- Those elements rest on a support -15- which has the possi ability of being regulated by the screw -16- to bring it close to or away from the mold.
The entire mechanism of one side is mounted on the support -15- and in it there is a cylinder -17- which displaces itself to a side countermold -18- in combination with the movement of the vent -10. The vent -10- tilts toward 1809 to locate itself under the package of laminae -3- or facing the countermold -2- accompanied, in this case, by one of the laminae which is backed to the countermold -2. In this way it is possible to incorporate in the same box assembly operation the auxiliary reinforcement lamina of the fronts, no matter what their size is.
This auxiliary lamina will be backed in the inside of the fronts and partially to the sides of the box, covering the beveled.eges in this way as shown in figure 3 of the drawings.
The mold -2- is provided above the coupling position of the lamina -3- some raised parts -19- push the laminae when the mold drops towards the countermold to assemble the box from the lamina represented in figure 1 and represented by the reference number -20.
