Fatty oils, extracting by pressure.-In treating peanuts to form food products, a portion of the oil is expressed by passage. between corrugated rollers a, d arranged to form channels c, f, in which the nuts are crushed, and spaces g into which the oil can exude. Wires are held stationary so as to lie in the channels f and to drain off the oil. The rollers may be heated. The pressed nuts are removed by knives i. The nuts are first treated to remove the red skins, and after being immersed in hot water and shaken to split the kernels, are passed between the pressing rollers.
