Abstract

The thumb guard has a hard plastics pad provided in the ball area of the thumb and may be provided as a thumb cover only or as a thumb cover with a wrist fastener or it may be built into a glove.

Description

DESCRIPTION My idea is a thumo guard with hard plastic pad built into the ball of the thumb. This idea would be invaluable to gardeners and plant propergaters to use en taking plant cuttIngs as a sharp knife has to be used in tis work.
The person involved is in constant ranger of cutting his/her thumb wnen sing an unguarded thumb as an anvil on wnicn to rest the plant material when cutting. The hard plastic pad would completely protect the thumb from very nasty cuts.
The Thumb guard can be rn the shape of a full glove or a single thumb stole with wrist strap fastening, or a single slip on sleeve, but in any of its forms - the hard plastic pad must be built into the thumb to form the anvil.
The plastIc used would be hard enough to cut onto but not too hard to damage the knife-edge.

    THUMB GUARD
  1. CLAIM 1. A thumb guard built into either (i) A full glove (ii) A thumb cover and wrist fastener (iii) A thumb cover only
  2. 2. A thumb guard as claimed in claim 1. Wherein the thumb guard is formed by a hard plastic pad which will protect the thumb when it is used in an operation such as the taking of plant cuttings.
