Description

i 2r) 1; -1 1,1 14,71, '1 AN ARRANGEMENT FOR COMDENSATING FOR TRANSVERSE
SLOPES OF BRIDGE FRAMES9 PARTICULARLY OF RAILWAY SLEWING CRANES The invention relates to an arrangement for compensatinq for transverse slopes of bridge frames, e.g. in vehicles such as railway vehicles and particularly in railway slewing cranes where the bridqe frame carries the crane superstructure and is.pivotally connected to hoqIes. It is important that the crane superstructures of such cranes be in a horizontal position when the cranes are in their working position.
DDR Patent DD-WP 221 975 discloses an arranqement which achieves the horizontal position of the crane superstructure by the use of adjustable supports disposed between bogie and undercarriage.
In this case, a disadvantaqe is that when the undercarriaqe at an angle to the bogies, the adjustable supports do not have their contacting surfaces parallel with one another, resultinq in considerahle sideways wedge pressure and considerable wear and tear.
Another arrangement is disclosed in DDR Patent DO-WP 218 327. In that case, the bracing hydraulics are used to adjust the crane superstructures. However a disadvantaqe lies in the hinh wedae forces and in the fact that this arrangement can only be used if the bracinq cylinders are in the same plane as the footstep bearinq.
Constructions are known which avoid these disadvantaqes. The arrangement according to DDR Patent DO-WP 247 636 employs for this purpose bracing levers articulated on the undercarriaae or bridne frame and which have corresponding sliding members at their ends. rRY virtue of the coincidence of bracing lever and footstep pivot point, bracing levers and bogie sliding members always assume a parallel position in respect of one another.
Here, the disadvantage lies in the considerable structural and design complication. A further substantial disadvantaqe occurs from the point of view of statics, since the disposition of the bracinq levers makes it necessary to cut into the transverse footstep bearing support which transmits the bracing forces. This results in a weakeninq of the crosssection and overcoming this likewise necessitates considerable structural costs.
There is therefore a need for a structurally simple and lowwear arrangement for compensating for transverse slopes, which does not weaken the bearing structure of the bridge frame althouqh it does improve the crane usage parameters.
The invention is based on the problem of providincl an arrangement for compensating for transverse slopes of bridge frames by the provision of per se known bracing elements, which permits of a variation in the;angle between the bogies and the bridge frame includinq the superstructure, while ensuring that the sliding members are parallel with one another, the arrangement at the same time requirina only minimal structural cost although it does reliably accommodate any lateral forces which arise.
According to the invention there is provided an arrangement for compensating for transverse slopes of a bridge frame, which is pivotably connected to a transverse support member, jacks and pairs of sliding members at their lower ends being provided as lateral support means, wherein each jack is supported at the upper, bridge frame, end via a shallow dome in a bearing and at the lower, support member, end it is supported on a slide plate on the support member through a slide member which is part-spherical and which is secured by a retaining rinq in the end of the piston rod of the jack, the piston rod being quided through the bridge frame by a bush.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described in greater detail by way of example with reference to the accompanyina drawings, in which:Fig. 1 shows a transverse section through an arrangement for compensating for transverse slopes in a railway slewing crane, includincl a bogie inclined to a bridge frame; Fig. 2 shows a section through the slide member mounted in the piston rod; and Fig. 3 shows a section through the mountincl at the cylinder end when the jack is not under load.
As shown in Fig. 1, the arrangement for compensating for transverse slopes consists of the bridge frame 1 supported on the bogie 7 by the footstep bearing 3 on the one hand and by the power units (hydraulic jacks) 4 on the other. As shown in Fin. 2, the piston rod 5 has at its end which is towards the bogie 'a part-spherical depression to receive the part-spherical slide member 6, the sliding surface 7 of which is carried by the bogie 2 through the slide plate 10, as shown in FIG. 1. The cylindrical projection 16 shown in Fig. 2 and provided on the slide member 6 limits-its mobility and prevents the sliding surface 7 twistinel away. The slide member 6 is secured by the retaininq ring 8 and the screws 9 in the depression in the piston rod 5. As shown in Fig. 1, the piston rod 5 is mounted in the bush 11 in the bridge frame in order to accommodate the sideways bending stresses resulting from the anale between bridge frame 1 and bogie 2.
At the cylinder end, the enlarged diameter base or foot 15 of the cylinder jack 4 is supported via the flattened or shallow dome 1? thereon by the bearing 13 which is connected to the bridge frame 1 through the tension bolts 14 (Figs. 1 and 3).
The jacks 4, when in the loaded state, as in Fig. 1, have between the foot 15 and the bridge frame 1, a clearance s 1 which in the unladen condition as in Fig. 3 occurs in equal maqnitude as a clearance s between flattened dome 12 and bearing 13.
When the crane is self-propelled, the jacks 4 establish a threepoint mounting of the bridge frame which is known from DDR Patent nnWP 200 873.
The embodiment according to the invention permits of functionally reliable and stable operation of the railway slewinq crane, particularly on sections of track an which there is camber or slope.
