Abstract

A car jack comprises lifting arms 2 to straddle a road wheel, the arms being raised by rotating threaded shaft 4 carrying a nut 3. Two jacks interconnected by arms 8 can support a movable plate 6 and a conventional jack 7 which can be used if the road wheels are to be removed. <IMAGE>

Description

CAR JACK This invention relates to the car jack.
The conventional means of raising a car off the gound requires a jack and the use of axel stands. This invention by means of one jack placed under each road wheel enables the car to be raised and lowered as necessary and also by the addition of cross members the ability to remove road wheel as well.
In Figure 1 the jack stands on its base 1 and the lifting arms 3 are slid under road wheel, then by turning handle 5 the lifting nut 3 raises lifting arm 2 up by means of thread 4.
Should the road wheel require removing, Figure 2 shows support arms 8 which connect between each jack 9 and by using a conventional jack 7 on movable support plate 6 the car can still be supported.

Claims (7)

  1. CAR JACK 1 A car jack that can be placed under the road wheel without moving car.
  2. 2 A car jack that can be used in restricted space.
  3. 3 Car jacks which can be used independent and separate to each other.
  4. 4 Car jacks that enable the road wheels to be removed by means of extension rods between the pairs of jacks.
  5. 5 Car jacks that give maximum stability in raised position.
  6. 6 Car jacks that enable repairs to be carried out underneath car.
  7. 7 Car jacks that can be stored and transported by hand.
