Abstract

A dustbin securing bracket incorporates two loops, through which a securing strap is passed. Fixed to one end of the strap is a quick release clasp arrangement. Once the bracket assembly is securely fixed to a firm base, the bin is then placed against the inside curve of the bracket, and the strap is passed around the bin. The free end of the strap is then looped through the free half of the clasp, the clasp is fastened together, and the strap is then pulled through to the desired tightness. The dustbin securing bracket is fixed to a firm base, e.g. a wall, using two screw holes and appropriate screws. The strap may be removed when desired. <IMAGE>

Description

DUSTBIN SECURING BRACKET This invention relates to a dustbin securing bracket.
At present I do not believe there is a device purpose built or available for the same function.
However I do think there is a need for the device, which could and would save a lot of inconvenience.
The bracket is primarily desqgueu for base as a Be*ils for holding a housenfALd dustbin in a secure manner, either inside or out-of-doors, thereby preventing accidental knocking over by: Wind, Animals, Children or other various reasons.
There follows an explanation of construction, to be followed with frequent reference to the accompanying drawings: Sheet 1/4 Figure 1 shows the actual size template, and should be used as such.
Sheet 2/4 Figure 2 shows a side view of the device actual size.
Sheet 3/4 Figure 3 shows the device in perspective view not actual size.
Sheet 4/4 Figure 4 shows device in use, dustbin omitted for clearer view, Figure 5 shows a dustbin secured by the bracket.
Figure 6 is a top view of the bracket and dustbin in proposed use.
An explanation of construction follows using frequent reference to the accompanying drawings.
Firstly using Figure 1 sheet 1/4 as a template make a card copy, (a separate sheet containing specific measurements is also attached).
Once the card copy of Fig 1 is made it becomes the template, which is now placed over a piece of 2mm galvanized mild steel of sufficient size to accommodate it comfortably. Mark the metal accordingly using the template, then cut away the surplus material from the outside edges.
Next two holes are drilled each 5/16" 5mm in diameter at the points indicated by 'A' Fig 1 of 1/4.
The device must now be given a series of 900 bends, to reach the desired product.
The first bend should be made along the line indicated by 'b' Fig 1 of 1/4 and Fig 2 of 2/4. This will now be referred to as the securing strip.
The next bends to be made are of the two tabs Fig 1 of 1/4 indicated by These are bent in the opposite direction of bend 'b' in ng 2 of 2/4, and should be regarded as downwards.
The first of the tab bends is made at point 'd' Fig 1 of 1/4 and Fig 2 of 2/4.
Next a measurement of 1i" 29mm is made from the apex points of 'd' Fig 1 of 1/4 and Fig 2 of 2/4. To give point 'e' Fig 1 of 1/4 and Fig 2 of 2/4.
From point 'e' a further measurement of 4t' 6mm is made and the final bend made, indicated by *7' Fig 2 of 2/i.
When the bends of the tabs are completed they are now referred to as the strap loops. Through these loops one end of a 1" 25mm synthetic weather resistant strap is passed. On the other end of the strap is a fixed fastener device, which is ready made, and is a quick release action.
The use of the device is as follows: Firstly a suitable mounting point must be selected preferably a brick wall or a strong wooden backing.
The device is then screwed securely in position using the two pre-drilled 3/16" 5mm drill holes. Once secured the dustbin is placed into the curve of the bracket, the strap is brought around both sides and fastened together then adjusted for tightness.

Claims (6)

1. A Dustbin securing bracket, comprising a bracket and an adjustable strap, with a quick release clasp.
The bracket fixed to a firm base using two screw holes provided, the strap is passed through the two loops of the bracket, then around the dustbin, and fastened by use of the quick release clasp, and pulling the strap tight around the dustbin thereby holding it securely.
2. A Dustbin securing bracket as claimed in Claim 1, where the bracket is formed to give a fixing base with two loops for the strap.
3. A Dustbin securing bracket with reference to claim 1 and claim 2, and a securing strap as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2 which is used to hold the dustbin in a secure manner, incorporating a clasp fastener of a quick release type, but is also adjustable to fit.
4. A Dustbin securing bracket as claimed in the preceeding claims, where the bracket is provided with a securing strap.
5. A Dustbin securing bracket as claimed in claim 4 wherein each or every strap is fitted at one end with a clasp fastener of the quick release type.
6. A Dustbin securing bracket substantially as described therein to be read or studied in conjunction with accompanying drawings, Figures 1-6
