Description
APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING FANCY YARNS,
IN PARTICULAR FLAME EFFECT YARNS
The invention relates to an apparatus for producing fancy yarns, in particular flame effect yarns, from two rovings at a time and, if need be, additional yarns, having a plurality of twisting stations and two two-belt draw frames per twisting station arranged in V-form with respect to one another in the cross-section of the machine in a common vertical plane, each of which is associated with a plurality of feed or backing rollers extending over a plurity of twisting stations and each of which has a plurality of pressure rollers associated with the backing rollers and provided separately for each draw frame, and mounted on a separate pressure roller carrier per draw frame, which pressure roller carrier can be swung open about a swivel axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the apparatus, the pressure roller carrier and the pressure rollers of the first draw frame provided on the outside of the apparatus being arranged on the outwardly facing side of the associated backing rollers and a pair of exit rollers common to both draw frames being provided at the exit of both frames.
In draw frames in which the pressure rollers are mounted in a pressure roller carrier, servicing of the draw frame, that is to say the placing of the roving in the draw frame, is facilitated, it is true, owing to the fact that merely by swinging the pressure roller carrier open and swinging it closed a plurality of pressure rollers can be lifted away from the backing rollers and brought into abutment against the backing rollers again simultaneously. In a known apparatus of the kind mentioned at the beginning (TEXTIL PRAXIS-INTERNATIONAL, March 1987, pp. 238-241), the pressure rollers of the rear pressure roller carrier are arranged on that side of the backing rollers of the rear draw frame which faces the backing rollers, of the front draw frame.Accordingly, the pressure roller carrier for the pressure rollers of the rear draw frame is also arranged in the V-shaped space between the backing rollers of the two draw frames. It is true that opening of the front pressure roller carrier is not a problem, but the swining open of the rear pressure roller carrier is impeded by the front pressure roller carrier and also by the backing rollers of the front draw frame.
The rear pressure roller carrier can be opened only after the opening of the front pressure roller carrier and then, however, also only by a small angle of swing. The placing of the roving in the rear draw frame is made very different thereby and it can mostly be carried out only from the back of the apparatus, from where, however, the levers which are provided for operating the pressure roller carriers cannot be reached. The placing of the roving in the rear feed mechanism is therefore troublesome and time-consuming.
Therefore, the problem underlying the invention is to provide an apparatus for producing fancy yarns, in particular flame-effect yarns, of the kind mentioned at the beginning in which the pressure roller carrier of the rear draw frame can be opened sufficiently wide independently from the pressure roller carrier of the front draw frame and unimpeded by parts of the front draw frame, so that easy and time-saving insertion of the roving is possible from the front of the machine.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the pressure roller carrier and the pressure rollers the second draw frame provided on the inside of the apparatus are arranged on the inside of its associated backing rollers which faces away from the backing rollers of the first draw frame, and the pressure roller carrier of the second draw frame can be swung open towards the inside of the appartus.
The invention therefore starts from the idea of arranging the pressure rollers of both draw frames in each case on the sides o the backing rollers facing away from each other and, consequently, also the associated pressure roller carriers on the sides of the backing rollers facing away from each other. As a consequence, in particular the swinging open of the pressure roller carrier of the second draw frame provided on the inside of the apparatus is no longer impeded the pressure roller carrier of the first draw frame and its parts. Both pressure roller carriers can be swung open and shut independently of one another. Moreover, it is also possible to swing the pressure roller carrier of the second draw frame open sufficiently wide, so that the roving can be passed through quickly and easily from the front of the apparatus.
Further advantageous developments of the invention are characterised in the sub-claims.
The invention is described in detail hereinafter with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.
The drawing is a diagrammatic cross-section of the apparatus in a vertical plane.
In the embodiment illustrated, the apparatus according to the 'invention is shown in conjiunction with a hollow spindle 1. The apparatus according to the invention could, however, also be employed if necessary in combination with a ring spindle. The hollow spindle 1 and the twisting element 2 arranged at its lower end are driven by a tangential belt 3. The binding thread bobbin 4 is arranged on the hollow spindle. The finished fancy yarn E runs through the pair of draw-off rollers 5 and is wound on the bobbin S bearing against the winding roller 6. For reasons of operating technique, the hollow spindle 1 generally lies in an inclined position in the fancy twisting machine.
Above the twisting spindle 1, two draw frames 7, 8 per twisting station are arranged in V-form with respect to one another in the cross-section of the machine in a common vertical plane. These are so-called two-belt draw frames. Associated with the first draw frame 7 provided on the outside A of the apparatus are two backing or feed rollers 9, 10 which extend in known manner over the entire length of the apparatus and are driven from a machine head. While the backing rollers 9 and 10 are associated with a plurality of first draw frames 7 arranged on the outside of the machine, two separate pressure rollers 11, 12 are provided for each draw frame 7, these being mounted in a pressure roller carrier 13. The pressure roller carrier 13 can be swung about a swivel axis 14 extending in the longitudinal direction of the apparatus and is provided with an actuating handle 15.
In similar manner, the feed or backing rollers 16, 17, which extend over the entire length of the apparatus and are likewise driven from the machine head, are associated with a plurality of second draw frames 8 provided on the inside I of the machine. Each of these draw frames has two pressure rollers 18, 19 which are mounted in a common pressure roller carrier 2Q This pressure
roller carrier 20 can be swung about the swivel axis 21 extending in
the longitudinal direction of the apparatus and is equipped with an
actuating handle 22. The decisive feature in this connection is
that the pressure rollers 18, 19 and the pressure roller carrier 20
of the second draw frame are provided on the inside of its
associated backing rollers 16, 17 which faces away from the backing
rollers, 9,10 of the first draw frame 7.Accordingly, the pressure roller carrier 20 is moreover provided on this side and adapted to
be swung open towards the inside I of the apparatus, as is indicated
in broken lines.
For the two draw frames 7, 8 there is provided a common pair of
exit rollers 23, 24 consisting of a continuous driven backing roller
and, for each two, a pressure roller 24 mounted in each pressure
roller carrier 13.
The backing rollers 10, 17 and the pressure rollers 12, 19 are
furthermore embraced by belts 25 which are passed in known manner
over guide elements 26.
Moreover, ahead of each pair of rollers there are arranged
roving guides (slubbing guides) 27, 28 and 29, 30, respectively,
through which the rovings (slubbings) V1 and V2 are passed. The
roving guides 27, 28 and 29 can be connected to rigid parts of the
apparatus. It is advantageous, however, for the roving guide 30
provided ahead of the pressure roller 19 of the second feed
mechanism 8 to be connected to the pressure roller carrier 20 of
this feed mechanism. In this way, the yarn guide then swings
downwardly on opening of the pressure roller carrier 20 and the
roving V2 can be drawn easily into the roving guide 30.
As can furthermore be seen from the drawing, the run-through
plane of the second feed mechanism Is arranged approximately
horizontally.
The starting up of the apparatus takes place in the following
manner:
One or more foundation threads G are drawn through the
foundation thread delivery mechanism 32 by way of the thread guides
33, 33a and through the hollow spindle 1 and the pair of draw-off
rolls 5 and applied against the winding bobbin S. During this
process, the hollow spindle 1 is lifted away from the tangential belt 3 and braked. The rovings (slubbings) V1 and V2 are then drawn into the draw frames 7, 8. To this end, the draw frames 7, 8 are opened by means of the actuating levers 15, 22 and brought into their positions shown in broken lines. As a result, the pressure rollers, 11, 12, 24, 18, 19 are lifted away from the associated backing rollers 9, 10, 13, 16 and 17 and the rovings V1 and V2 can be placed easily in the feed mechanisms and drawn in through the roving guides 27 - 30.The rovings V1 and V2 are placed or drawn into the feed mechanisms 7, 8 to such an extent that their front ends come to be located in the region of the belts 25. The insertion or drawing-in of the rovings V1 and V2 can take place from the outside A of the apparatus. The roving V2 drawn in to the lower feed mechanism 8 rests on its pressure rollers 18, 19 when it is open.
Finally, a length of binding thread B is also drawn off from the binding thread bobbin 4 and threaded into the hollow spindle 1.
If the machine is now started, then all the backing rollers 9, 10, 23, 16, 17 run and also the backing rollers of the foundation thread delivery mechanism 32 and the draw-off roller pair 5.
Moreover, the winding roller 6 is also driven. At first, the untwisted foundation thread G and binding thread B are conveyed and wound on the winding bobbin S. If the hollow spindle 1 is now swung against the tangential belt 3, then the foundation thread or threads
G receive a false twist through the twisting element 2, this twist commencing at the thread guide 33a. After the closing of the pressure roller carriers 13, 20, the rovings V1 and V2 can also be delivered. This delivery or feed takes place through driving and appropriate control of the backing rollers 9, 10 and 16, 17, respectively.By means of different speeds of the backing roller 9 with respect to the backing roller 10 and of the backing roller 16 with respect to the backing roller 17, the desired preliminary draft of the rovings V1 and V2 is achieved, and by different speeds of the backing rollers 10, 17 with respect to the exit backing roller 23, the desired main draft is achieved. The belts 25 ensure a uniform draft in the process. The rovings V1 and/or V2 arrive through the common pair of exit rollers 23, 24 at the thread guide 33!) where they are seized by the foundation thread or threads G and bound in.
The binding thread B runs along with these threads and binds the effect in in known manner.
It should also be mentioned that the pressure rollers 11, 12, 23 and 18, 19, respectively, are spring mounted in each case on their associated pressure roller carriers 13 and 20, respectively.
A particular advantage of the invention also consists in that commercial draw frames can be employed, these being comparatively cheap to manufacture, since they are made in large numbers also for other purposes.
