Abstract
221,055. Holmes & James, Ltd., and Sutherland, H. E. July 24, 1923. Fuse-boards. - A fuse-board or casing carrying a number of electric fuses is provided with struts &c. e, Figs. 1 and 4, secured to the back thereof, the extensions e of these struts constituting means by which they may be secured to a wall &c. The contents of the casing, namely the fuse units h may be secured to the struts through the medium of brackets f and screws f<1>. The casing is composed of cast-iron and troughs a between which are positioned sheet metal plates c, c<1>, c<2> or an integral channel member, the whole being held together by rods d and secured to the struts by screws e<2>. The troughs a are rebated to receive the plates c &c., and are closed by removable end plates b which can be drilled for the reception of conduits. A cast lid g for closing the casing has a peripheral groove to take over the edges of the plates c<1>, c<2> and flanges a<2> formed on the troughs a. In a modification shown in Fig. 6, the troughs a are dispensed with, and their equivalents are formed by angle members c<3> secured between the sides by transverse bolts c<4>, brackets c<5> being secured at each side to receive the rods d. Split pins (not shown) may be passed through these brackets to retain the members c<3> from rearward derangement. Specification 221,018 is referred to.
