Gates and gate posts; handles; rail and verticalbar fencing.-A pen or enclosure for cattle comprises a centrally disposed enclosure having a main entrance and gateways leading to enclosed and separate parts of the pen. The pen may consist of four contiguous enclosures separated by partitions 23 and a small central enclosure 2 separated from the main enclosures by four gates 3, 4 on four posts 1. One or all of the gates may be made to swing both inwards and outwards. For this purpose both ends of a gate may be provided with downwardly projecting hinge-pins 12, Fig. 2, to enter sockets or openings in lugs 13 on the posts. The parts of the pen may be made detachable by providing the posts with lugs between which hurdles can be secured by pins passing through the lugs and through projections from the ends of the hurdles. The hurdles may be replaced by bars having hooks at their ends to engage the lugs on the posts, and the posts may be connected at both ends by detachable bars.
