Abstract

220,232. Gleadall, A. Feb. 1, 1924. Stud-and-slot fastenings.-A fastening for expanding bracelets, necklaces &c., comprises a shank 12, shown in Fig. 2 as applied to a bracelet, having an enlarged head 13 and pivotally or rigidly attached to the link 11 at one end of the bracelet, and adapted to engage a slotted fastening member 10 formed in the link at the opposite end of the bracelet. A spring-actuated member 14, in this case the centre sliding portion of the end link 7, is adapted, when tension is released from the bracelet after the fastening has been engaged, to bear against the enlarged head of the shank 12 and retain it in the narrow portion of the slot 9 in the member 10. Fig. 4 shows the fastening adapted to secure an expanding watch wristlet, while Fig. 6 shows its adaptation to necklaces. Specification 113,492 is referred to.
