Abstract

A device for protecting glass from the effects of heat whilst paint-stripping comprises a metal plate 2 which can be secured to the glass surface by suckers 1. A handle 3 is provided, connected to the metal plate and suckers, enabling easy movement, protection from heat and a pivot action for the plate to be moved. <IMAGE>

Description

SELF-HOLDING GLASS PROTECTOR This invention relates to a self-holding glass protector.

It is well known that to protect glass from heat when stripping old paint, and subsequently from new paint, is relatively difficult. A problem which becomes harder when working from a ladder.

According to the present invention there is provided a self-holding glass protector comprising of a metal plate supported by suckers, by which means the metal plate is held onto and protects the underlaying glass.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the self-nolding glass protector fro: side view.

Figure 2 shows the self-holding glass protector from top view.

Figure 3 illustrates the self-holding glass protector attaches to glass and against the glass surround.

Figure 4 illustrates the self-holding glass protector attach a to glass and pivoted against a differing level of the glass surround.

Refering to the drawings the self-holding glass protector comprises a metal plate 2, which is secured by a handle = and suckers 1, as shown in figure 1 and figure 2.

Due to the elasticity of the handle and suckers, a pivot action is provided and the glass protector may be angled, according to need, against the glass surround as illustrated in figure 3 and figure 4.

Claims (7)

1 A self-holding glass protector comprising of a metal plate supported by suckers, by which means the metal plate is held onto and protects tne underlaying glass.

2 A self-holding glass protector as claimed in claim 1, may be guided, unremoved, along the glass to a new position.

3 A self-holding glass protector as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, may be pivoted by the flexibility of the suckers to different levels, to protect glass surround as desired.

4 A self-holding glass protector as claimed in claim 1, claim 2 or claim 3, due to the nature of the metal Elate, paint stripping is aided by reflection of the heat.

5 A self-holding gloss protector as claimed in claim 1, claim 2, claim 3 or claim 4, dne to the nature of the metal plate, underlaying glass is protected from paint.

6 A self-holding glass protector as claimed in claim 1, claim 2, claim 3, claim 4 cr claim 5, is incorporated with a handle to protect the user from any heat when adjusting to a new position.
