Abstract
Device for balancing a press ram, in which the press ram is attached to hollow rods 1. The hollow rods are supported in pressure medium cylinders located on the headpiece or stand of the press. Breakage-resisting core rods 2 are provided within the hollow rods. Upon breakage of hollow rods 1 their lower ends displace downwards relative to core rods 2 and activate switches 4 to turn off the press. <IMAGE>
Description
DEVICE FOR BALANCING A PRESS RAM
The present invention relates to a device for balancing a press ram, wherein the press ram is attached to hollow rods, which in their turn are supported by means of pistons in pressure medium cylinders which are located on the headpiece or stand of the press. These hollow rods can break when overloaded, which can cause considerable damage.
This is where the present invention comes in, with the ObjeDt of rating . breakage-resisting means with as simple a construction as possible.
For this purpose, with a device of the design described a+ the cutset, the invention proposes providing breakage-resistant means within the hollow rods. ihe particular constructive embodiment of the breakage-resistant means is described in ehe sub-claims. An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing, and is described in greater detail in the figures below, wherein:
Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the balancing device.
Fig. 2 shows an enlarged representation in a section A of Fig. 1, and
Fig. 3 shows an identical section according to
Fig. 2 after a break has occurred.
The device for balancing the press rams, which in their turn are supported by means of pistons 9 in the pressure medium cylinder 10, is located on the headpiece or stand.
In the device within the hollow rods 1 there are through tie bolts 2, which on the one hand are supported by means of threaded nuts 5 on the pistons 9 and on the other hand are supported by means of threaded nuts 6 on the lower threaded nuts 7 by means of interposed bearing pipes 3.
When the hollow rods 1 break switches 4 attached to the lower threaded nuts 6 are switched by means of the switch rods 8 which are screwed into the threaded nuts 9.
When the switches 4 are actuated, the press is switched off and a fault is displayed on a control board on the press.
Claims (5)
1. Device for balancing a press ram, in which the press ram is attached to hollow rods, which in their turn are supported in pressure medium cylinders located on the headpiece or stand of the press, and breakage-r-esisting means are provided within the hollow rods.

Device according to claim 1, wherein through tie bolts are located within the hollow rods and are supported on the one hand by mean of first threaded nuts or the like on the pistons of the pressure medium cylinders and on the other hand by means of second threaded. nuts on lower trea0..e1 ''1- S f hollow rods.
3. Device according to claims 1 and 2, wherein bearing pipes are interposed between the second threaded nuts and the lower threaded nuts of the hollow rods.
4. Device according to claims 1 to 3, wherein on the lower threaded nuts of the hollow rods are located switch rods which cooperate with switches attached to the threaded nuts.
5. Device for balancing a press ram substantially as herein described with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
