Abstract

For mechanically forming a lease in a group of warp threads a hooked reed 20 is displaceable transversely of the direction of thread run and the leasing rods 2 associated with the warp beams. Each leasing rod 2 is at its longitudinal ends mounted on a pair of levers 3 having a pivot drive 5 on each lever, the pairs of levers being brought one after another into engagement with a single displacing drive formed by rollers 15 on drive means 7 attached to a chain 63. As the drive passes each pair of levers they are raised in the direction of movement 6 of the chain and lowered in the other direction. <IMAGE>

Description

TITLE: Apparatus for mechanically forming a lease on a textiles machine.
The invention relates to an apparatus for mechanically forming a lease in warp th-reads running off warp beams or the like (?n a textile machine, such as a sizing machine or asscmbling plant and haying a hooked recd displaceable transyersely to the direction of movement of the warp thresds and with, for association with the warp beams, leasing rods which, by means of a mechonical displacing device engaging the longitudinal ends of the leasing rods Which projece on both sides beyond the lateral edges of the warp threads, are mounted to be individually raisable from a travelling posltin to a leasing position and returned.
An apparutus of this type is described in DE-GM 80 13 381. In the known leasing apparatus, h@oked pla@es conventional in the textiles industry are used, being mounted parallcl with the plane of the warp thread groups for displacement transversely to thel r direction of movement, For leasing, the individual leasing rods are mounted to be individually raisable and lowerable in a mechanical displacing device, particularly by means of pneumatic positioning membefs. Therefore, it is necessary to asaociate with each individual leasing rod a separate displacing arrangement, the raising or lowering means having to be in each case separately synchronised t.o the twu longitudinal edges@ of the leasing rods.
The invention is based on the problem of providing an automatic leasing apparatus which operstes together with hooked plates (hooked reeds) which are conventionally used in the textiles industry and which manages with a single displacing drive disposed on each of the lateral edges of the groups of warp threads in question and which is adapted to raise the i@dividual leasing rods one after another. In particular, every endeavour is also made to synchronise in the simplest possible way the displacing drives associated with the two lateral edges of the groups of warp thrends.
The solution according to the invention resides in that the longitudinal ends of each leasing rod are mounted on a respective pair of levers at a distance from the pivot point of the levers, and in t!,1at both levers of each pair of levers comprise a pivot drive and in that each of c rows of pivot drives provided on both lateral edges of the warp threads has associated with it a displacing drive which jointly and consecutively acts upon the paire of levers.
As a result of the invention, it is possible with a single displacing drive on each lateral edge of the group of warp threads and which must pass the pairs of levers one after another, engaging the pivot drives of the levers in the process, the levers being adapted to be raised one after another being coordinated with the typical movements of the hooked plate or reed. Therefore, only one single displacing drive is on each lateral edge of t the groups of warp threads and respoonds in par- ticular to a command from leasing rod to leasing rod to move past the pivot drives of the levers associated with the relevant leasing rods in such a way that the pairs of levers lift the ass@@iated leasing rod always immediately after a lateral to or fro movement of the hooked reed (or before such a movement thereof).
According to a further feature of the invention, there is on each of two two lateral edges of the groups of warp threads a drive means for the displacing drive which must pass the pairs of levers one ofthe another, engaging the pivot drives thereby.
If the drive means is constructed as a chain transmission, then the displacing drive can in the simplest case consist of one single drive roller fixed on the drive means and which, as it passes the relevant pair of levers, engages its pivot drive which is constructed as a simple twin-prenged fork. A sm@@th- ly acting displacing drive is provided if there is mounted on the drive means a set of drive rollers which, upon passing the relevent pair of levers, is intended to engage the pivot drive there@f which is possibly and pref@rably constructed as a chain s@gment.
Alternatively, however, the drive m@ans can also be constructed as a rack transmission, the displacing drive c@nsisting of a rack segment connected to the rack transmission on which, as it passes the particular pair of levers which are to be acttla- ted, will cngage their pivoting drive which is possibly con structed as a gear segment.
In any case, it is very simple to synchronise the movement of the two drive means by using a fixed coupling. For ex@mple, one single shaft which at thc same time drives or connects both drive means, particularly chains, is sufficient to guarantee complete synchronism of the displacing drives on both lateral edges of the warp thread group. If the tooth or gear segments S associated with one edge of the warp thread group lie in a common plane and have axes parallel with one another, then in the case of; the apparatus according to the inventi on, there are for practical purposes only rotating or pivoting movements about axes which extend parallel with the longitudinal direction of the leásing rods which have to be raised or lowered By means of the displacing drives according to the invention, it is necessary only to raise the pairs of levers without the need for any special locking function for the raised position, if the levers are pivoted beyond the vertical 1 ever position and against an abutment by means of the pivoting and displecing drives. The abutment can then be combined with a limit switch, the signal from which can bo used to set In motion the next movement of tile sidcs of the hooked reed It may, however, also be a good idea to associate o limit switch not only with this leasing position of the relevant pair of levers but also with their travelling position (lowered posiion of the 1 leasing rod), to ensure that prior to commencing the next leasing operation, the relevant pair of levers moves from the travelling position and to ensure there is no risk of excessive friction of the warp threads pulled through the apparatus according to the invention. In oerder to be able to exercise a regulating function in this respect, it may in conclusion be a good ides for the entire displacing arrangement, with the leasing rods mounted thereon, to the mounted on a pivot axis disposed approximately in the centre of the displacing drives and extending parallel with th leasing rods. Pivoting about this axis can minimise the friction between the warp threads and the leasing rods and , furthermore, the amount by which the portions of warp thread groups emanating from the individual warp beams are spread open can be adapted to the requirements obtaining at any given time.
Details of the invention will be explained hereinafter with reference to an example of embodiment shown in the accompanying diagreimmatie drawings In which: Fig. 1 shows a cross-section through a leasing rod displacing arrangement, at right-angles to the longitudinal direc tion of the leasing rods; Fig. 2 is an enlarged view of displaacing drive and pivoting drive of two adjacently disposed levers of the appara us shown in Fig. 1 Fig. 3 is a construction sketch for determining the angle of thread deflection at the individual leasing rod, and Fig. 4 shows an optimum leasing rod construction.
Figs. 1 and 2 diagrammatically show the displacing arrangement associated with one lateral edge of a group of warp threads generally dasignsted 1 and intended for the successive raising and lowering of a greater number of leasing rods 2, for example ten leasing rods 2.1 to 2.10.
In tile apparatus shown In Figs. 1 and 2, a lever ?, is associa- ten with each longitudinal end of a leasing rod 2. The longitudinal end of the relevant leasing rod 2 is mounted, in partieular fixed, on the lever at a distance from the lever pivot point 4. Each lever 3 has a pivot drive 5 which, by means of a displacing drive 7, which is inten to pass the lever 3 in the feed direction 6. When the displacing drive 7, as it passes the lever 3 in the feed direction 6, engages the pivot drive 5, the lever is pivoted upwardly in the direction of the arrow 8, arriving thereby in a position outslde a bottom sbutment 9,
