Roofing tiles.-The roofing shingle claimed in the parent Specification is modified by facing the entire weather surface with slate particles of a single colour and a coating of colouring matter is applied on the facing of approximately the lower third portion of the shingle before the same is laid. The coated portion serves as a gauge to indicate the extent of shingle to be exposed. To produce a decorative effect in a roof, only certain of the shingles need be of the above kind, the remainder of the shingles being of usual type and of a different colour. Specification 7073/06, [Class 95, Paints &c.], also is referred to.
