Abstract
219,292. Franklin Optical Co., (Assignees of Bugbee, L. TV.). July 17, 1923, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Drawings to Specification. Spectacle lenses. - Bifocal lenses are constructed with a major portion of a glass of a relatively low refractive index, and with the reading portion of a glass of relatively high refractive index. The relative dispersions of the two glasses are such that the ratio of the power of the reading portion of the major lens and the index of dispersion is the same as the power of the insert and the index of dispersion of the glass of which it is formed. The resulting lens is stated to be achromatic.
