Abstract

Axle-trucks and hogies; springs, arrangement of, and mounting bodies on.-A bogie truck having a bolster provided with side and centre bearings and supported by coiled springs from the main truck has the side bearings in the form of arcuate slots engaging rollers and has the bolster anchored in position by pillar bolts passing through the bolster, the coiled supporting springs, the main frame, the journal springs, and the axle box. In the form shown the king post 11 is bolted to the transverse bars 12 of the bolster which is provided at its ends with arcuate slotted members 2 engaging flanged rollers 10 mounted on bolts 9 secured to the body. The members 2 are guided by the main frame at 8 and supported by springs 3 from side members 4, in turn supported by springs 6 from the axle boxes 7. When applied to a maximum traction truck, the king bolt is supported by a bracket secured to the transverse frame and arranged immediately over the driving axle. The trailing wheels are then held down by a spring pressed roller on the truck engaging a rub plate on the body.
