Abstract

219,021. British Arca Regulators, Ltd., (Aktiebolaget Area Regulatorer). July 11, 1924. Air, moistening.-In a process for humidifying air for use in workrooms, the amount of water admitted to sprayers is automatically controlled in relation to the degree of humidity of the air, by allowing the water to flow through an additional aperture the size of which is controlled by humidity sensitive means. The spraying devices comprises a disc b rotated by an electromotor a, water being supplied from a pipe d through a hollow shaft c. The motor current is supplied through wires e, f, and is shut on and off from a switch g. The water flows from a pipe k, and its pressure on a diaphragm n, controlling the spring p on the switch g, causes the current to be turned on, and the disc b to be rotated, before the water reaches the top of the pipe d. The amount of water supplied to the disc is controlled by the quantity of water allowed to escape through the opening m, partly closed by a spring- controlled member s. The distance of the latter from the opening m is regulated by threads t, the length of which alter with change of humidity of the surrounding air.
