Pictures &c., hanging on walls. -Buffers or protecting pads for attachment to the backs of picture frames and the like, consist of a pad a of rubber with a boundary flange a<3> fitting within a metal or other retaining socket c. The buffer is attached to a surface by a screw passing through a hole in a tongue c' on the socket so that it may pivot thereon to occupy various positions.
