Abstract

The invention relates to a driving mechanism of a cylinder and dial circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery goods, and provided with two motors (M1, M2) to drive the needle cylinder and the dial. One motor (M1) is connected only to the needle cylinder 1 and the second (M2) only to the dial 6. Electrically both motors (M1, M2) are connected in parallel while into the lead to the motor (M2) to drive the dial there is introduced a switch controlled by the control device of the machine so that the drive is driven only when required. Various motor speeds are selectable by the control device by means of a frequency converter and associated potentiometers. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Driving mechanism for a single-cylinder circular knitting machine
Description The invention relates to a driving mechanism for a single-cylinder circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery goods.
Single-cylinder circular hosiery knitting machines are known where the drive of the dial is taken from the needle cylinder, while in said drive there is a coupling which serves to disengage and to engage the drive of the dial.
The disadvantage of said mechanism is that to control the coupling it is necessary to reduce the machine change revolutions.
Further, single-cylinder circular knitting machines with two motors are known, where one motor drives the dial and the needle cylinder and the second only the needle cylinder, while they are mutually coupled via a freewheel coupling. The operation of said mechanism is not bound to low revolutions during the machine changes, but said mechanism cannot be used for various numbers of revolutions according to the program of the machine, because both motors, namely the possibilities of their revolutions cannot be used for the same operation modes of the machine.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the above mentioned disadvantages.
According to the invention there is provided a drive mechanism of a single-cylinder circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery goods, comprising two motors to drive the needle cylinder and the dial, one motor being connected only to the needle cylinder and the second motor being connected only to the dial, while electrically both motors are connected in parallel, while in the lead to the second motor there is introduced a switch connected to a control device of the machine.
The advantage of the invention is the fact that various numbers of revolutions can be used to drive the machine by means of a motor controlled by means of a frequency converter of the revolutions without mechanical arrangement, eg. by the exchange of the pulleys, of the synchronization of the revolutions of the needle cylinder and the dial.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a schematic illustration of the drive of the needle cylinder and of the dial; and Figure 2 is a wiring diagram of both motors, frequency converter and control microcomputer of the machine.
A known single-cylinder circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery goods is provided with needle cylinder 1 which is driven by electric motor M1 via mechanical gear containing pulleys 2, 3 belt 4 and shaft 5. Further above the needle cylinder 1 there is rotatably mounted a dial 6 with cutting saw, the dial 6 being driven by electric motor M2 via a mechanical gear including pulleys 7, 8, belt 9, shaft 10, pulleys 11, 12 belt 13 and shaft 14. The machine is provided with a converter 15, eg. a frequency converter, a terminal 16 of which is connected to a terminal 17 of the power net. An output terminal 18 of the converter 15 is connected with the motor M1 and at the same time it is connected with terminal 19, of a switch 19.The second terminal 192 of the switch 19 is connected with the second motor M2 so that both motors M1 and M2 are connected in parallel.
Further the converter 15 is provided with output terminals 20 and 21 of a reference control voltage, which terminals are connected to speed potentiometers 22, 23 and 24. The sliders of the potentiometers 22, 23 and 24 are connected to respective terminals 251, 252 and 253 of switches 25, the remaining terminals 254, 255 and 25S of which are connected to a terminal 26 of a control input of the converter 15.
The switch 25 and the switch 19 are elec trom.agnetic and they are connected to terminals 27, 28 of outputs of a control microcomputer 29 of the machine.
The operation of the above described mechanism is as follows. When knitting the fabric, the machine is controlled by the program of the control microcomputer 29. The control microcomputer 29 controls, via switches 25, connection of respective speed potentiometers 22, 23, 24 to the converter 15.
The output terminal 18 then feeds the motor M1 driving the needle cylinder 1 and according to the changes in the frequency of the output voltage of the converter 15 also the revolutions of the motor M1 are controlled.
The control microcomputer 29 controls from the terminal 28 also switching of the switch 19 and sets also the second motor M2 in operation, said motor M2 driving the dial 6 only for the time when the dial 6 is necessary to form the fabric.
CLAIMS 1. A drive mechanism of a single-cylinder circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery goods, comprising two motors to drive the needle cylinder and the dial, one motor being connected only to the needle cylinder and the second motor being connected only to the dial, while electrically both motors are connected in parallel, while in the lead to the second motor there is introduced a switch connected to a control device of the machine.
2. A drive mechanism of a single-cylinder circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery goods, substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
