Cooling and heating parts.-A centrifugal pump for extinguishing fire is driven by an internal combustion engine and means for cooling the water of the engine are associated with the pump. Each end of the pump casing has an annular chamber d subdivided into segments by radial ribs c. The segments of one end are displaced half the length of a segment relative to those at the other end. The segments of the two annular chambers are connected by the tubular channels which contain the bolts securing the casing. The water from the engine enters the segments d<1> through the tube socket a at the rear of the pump, thence through the channels 1, 1<a> to segments -at the front of the pump and through channels 2, 2<a> to the back again. This action is repeated until the water arrives at the socket b connected to the cooling jacket of the motor casing, and the water is cooled during its passage by the pump water. Instead of the water flowing through the bolt channels it may flow through tubular tie-bolts.
