Description

SPECIFICATION Ceiling lamp for motorvehicles, comprising a courtesy equipment for the rear seats passengers The present invention relates to a ceiling lamp intended for car cabin; in the present description the term "ceiling lamp" indicates the structure, generally located in the middle of the car ceiling and comprising, in known embodiments, one or more lamps for the indirect or diffuse lighting of the passengers compartment or cabin.
According to the invention the ceiling lamp is characterised in that it comprises a box-like structure substantially extending all along the transversal dimension of the ceiling of the cabin and furthermore includes, besides the lamps for the indirect lighting of the cabin, a courtesy equipment for the passengers in the rear seats.
According to the-invention, the above mentioned courtesy equipment comprises different instruments chosen among the following: a clock, a radio receiver, an electroacoustic transducer with ear-phones, an electric shaver, and/or accessories of common use chosen among the following: orientable courtesy spot lights, toilet case, first aid kit, vanity mirrors, sunlight shields or shades, orientable dispensers for depurated recycled air, tissue dispensers.
Further features and advantages of the present invention will be now described in more detail referring to the enclosed drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the ceiling lamp according to the invention; Figure 2 is the same view showing some of the ceiling lamp equipment elements in normal use position; Figures 3 and 4 are cross sectional views on a larger scale according to lines Ill-Ill and IV-IV of Figure 1; Figure 5 is a partial perspective view showing another element of the ceiling lamp; Figures 6 and 7 are cross sectional views on a larger scale according to lines VI-VI and VII-VII of Figure 5; and Figure 8 is a partial perspective view showing another element of the ceiling lamp.
With reference to the drawing figures, the ceiling lamp according to the invention is generally indicated by the reference numeral 10. The ceiling lamp is formed of a plastics box-like structure extending all along the transversal dimension of the ceiling C of the cabin of the car A and is located substantially at the central uprights M of the car body.
The ceiling lamp 10 is generally built as an autonomous structure which is connected, by means of any fixing members known per se, to the car ceiling, conveniently by means of self-threading screws engaging in holes provided in the transversal reinforcing beams of the ceiling of the car body and/or in the uprights M.
It is however obvious that equal advantages may be obtained with a ceiling lamp formed of a structure 10 in one single piece with the lining of the ceiling of the cabin whenever said lining is of the known type having a rigid self-supporting structure.
As the drawing figures clearly show the ceiling lamp according to the invention comprises a courtesy equipment for the rear seat passengers of the car, which equipment is partly hidden by the ports S1...Ss, hinged around horizontal axes and which can be tilted downwards (Figure 2). Said equipment is made of pieces of equipment and/or of accessory elements of conventional use.
The pieces of equipment are conveniently chosen among the group which comprises; a clock, radio receiver with possible magnetic tape reader, stereophonic electro-acoustic transducer with earphones, electric shaver. The accessories of conventional use are advantageously chosen among a group which includes: orientable courtesy lights, toilet case, first aid kit, paper-tissue dispensers, sun-light shields, orientable dispensers of depurated recycled air.
In Figures 1 and 2 a ceiling lamp is illustrated according to the invention, in which a port S is equipped with a pocket f6r housing sunglasses, a port S2 is provided with a vanity mirror 12 and a comb-holder 13; a drawer S3 contains an electric shaver 14, a drawer S4 contains a paper-tissue dispenser 15 and a vanity mirror, and a drawer Ss includes a dispenser (not shown) of recorded magnetic tapes.
The ceiling lamp is furthermore equipped with fixed light sources 16 for the diffuse lighting of the cabin and with orientable lights 17 of the concentrated-beam type, which is particularly suitable for reading. The ceiling lamp is also equipped with a radio tuner 18 and with a receptacle 19 which is suitable for housing a ear-phone type electroacoustic transducer.
Figure 5 illustrates an equipment, composed of a sunshade 20, which is advantageously of the orientable type, and of air dispensers 21, the ceiling lamp being equipped with an internal channel 22 possibly communicating with the outside.
In Figure 8 the ceiling lamp is further provided with a tiltable port S6, in which a first aid set is housed.
The selection and the combination of the different pieces of equipment and accessories is obviously within the optional range of selections of the user and does not effect the advantages residing in the concept of the present invention.
