Abstract

217,733. Austin, Sir H. May 18, 1923. Seat adjustments.-A seat for a motor car, or for like use, is supported at the rear by struts E, pivoted high up in relation to the seat back at their upper ends G, and to the floor at their lower end F, the front of the seat being adjustably supported. The adjustment is effected by notched plates B carried by the seat A, and a headed pin c mounted on the floor. To prevent accidental disengagement from the notches b a guard rail H is provided on the plates. The forward end e of this guard rail is offset sufficiently to permit the head of the pin to pass clear if it is desired to raise the seat. Specification 212,063 is referred to.
