Abstract

217,480. Franklin, H. W. Sept. 22, 1923. Discharge - collecting appliances. - A drainage appliance for use after colotomy is moulded in a single piece from a rubber compound which can be vulcanized bv heat to produce a soft or comparatively soft rubber, and comprises a sheet a to which the ends of a belt are fixed, a cushion b surrounding an aperture in the sheet, and a receptacle c fitting around the aperture on the outer side of the sheet. The receptacle c has, at its lower end, an open neck c<1> having a flange c<2> over which a rubber bag is stretched. The appliance is moulded by means of a three-piece mould and a core.
