Soothing teats.-Relates to infants' comforters of the type formed wholly of of india-rubber and comprising a teat, a shield, a ring fixed to the teat between the shield and the beaded end of the teat, and, in some cases, a plug for the end of the teat, and consists in splitting the ring e longitudinally at f, passing the split portion over the bead or roll b of the teat a and finally vulcanizing to secure the various parts together. In modifications, the beaded end of the teat may be squeezed flat to cover the end of the plug c or to form an hermetic closure so that the plug may be dispensed with.
