Rotary-mould-table machines; moulding phonograph records.-In a machine for moulding disc records comprising a press plunger and abutment having cooling jackets thereon, and an intermittently moving carrier which receives the pressing casings containing the plastic material and is arrested at successive positions in its course of travel, the material is loaded in the casings at one position where the top plate of the casing is raised automatically by the advancing plunger. The plunger 12 is operated hydraulically in a cylinder 11 supported in a column 10 and presses against an abutment 16 which may be swung out of position on a shaft 17 supported in uprights 14, and is locked in position by a spring latch 100 which engages a recess 102 on a spindle 15. The plunger and abutment are provided with waterjackets 25, 26. The carrier table 18 is mounted on the spindle 15 and is driven by a motor through gearing 130, 131, 111, 112, an arm 115 operating a clutch 114 at intervals. Retraction of the plunger causes a lug 122 to strike an arm 121 on a sleeve 117 and oscillate the shaft 116, thus permitting the table to move to the next position, further motion being checked by a cam 120. Fig. 2 shows three positions or stations, a heating and loading station A, a heating station B, and a pressing station C. The station A is provided with a heating-jacket adapted to rise with the pressing head, and the pressing casing J, Fig. 2, is mounted on arms 60 so that a lifting- arm 64 fixed on the plunger head and operat-- ing through an aperture 63 raises the lid 42, Fig. 5, into contact with a vertical heating-jacket 70. The station B is provided with heating- jackets above and below the table.
