Wood tubes.-Wooden tubes of the type formed from continuous strips ot veneer or thin wood wound spirally with abutting or overlapping edges are shaped with bends in the walls in the direction of the axis of the tube so as to be suitable for tone arms and " loud speaker " horns. For simple bends of unvarying diameter, the strip a may be shaped as shown in Fig. 2, and the edges abutting, but for the bends of varying diameter or flared portions, the edges of the strip overlap, and are cemented together.
