Abstract

216,747. Heritage, T., and Shepherd, F. Aug. 20, 1923. Spark arresters. - In a spark arrester of the kind in which an inverted conical baffle is provided at the top of the chimnev to deflect sparks &c. into an annular space between the chimney proper and a surrounding casing, the baffle A has a large apex angle and is supported by bolts D in the central plane of a double truncated conical casing B, C, secured to the top of the casing G which surrounds the chimney L. Two clips H, which embrace the chimney Land are bolted together at I, support the casing G which is provided at its upper end with three apertures E to allow the deflected sparks to pass into the casing, and at its lower end, with a cleaning door.
