Abstract

The steering arrangement of a vessel comprises a rudder (4), of which the blade (5) is rigidly connected to a lower end of a rudder stock (3) kinematically connected with an actuating member of a steering engine (1), and a rotor (6) which is so mounted in front of the leading edge of the blade (5) that it can reversibly rotate. The rudder (4) is provided with an additional rotor (8), which is arranged close to the trailing edge of the blade (5) and which can also reversibly rotate.
