Pulley-blocks.-A pulley frame, guard, or casing is formed in two dish-shaped tangentially-slotted halves 5, 6, the slots in which register when assembled to form a series of fair lead passages 7 for the rope. By selecting a suitable pair of passages a variable angle of lap of the rope can be obtained to suit any particular conditions of employment. In some instances. for example as shown at the left-hand side of Fig. 3, certain of the slots may slope, the reverse way to the remainder. A snug on the bolt 11 may be used to fix the casing to the supporting bracket 10.
