Abstract

A pool is formed from a plurality of inner surround members (1) and a plurality of outer surround members (2). A pool liner (3) is held adjacent the edge thereof between the inner and outer surround members (1, 2). Thus, a pool can be built quickly and easily without the use of tools or cement. Preferably, the inner and outer surround members (1, 2) are held together by coping members (5) and wire, tape etc 7 is secured around the outer periphery of the members 1. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Pool The present invention relates to a pool.
It is knownXto make a garden pool using a flexible pool liner. This involves excavating a hoie to accommodate the liner, and laying stone slabs around the edge. It is not possible to form a raised pool without building a concrete or brick surround to accommodate the liner.
The invention provides a pool comprising a plurality of inner surround members defining the inner circumference of the pool, a plurality of outer surround members defining the outer circumference of the pool, and a sheet pool liner held adjacent the edge thereof between the inner and outer surround members.
Thus, it is possible to build a raised pool quickly and simply. No tools, or cement are required for assembly of the pool.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing, wherein: Figure 1 is a plan view of a pool according to the invention, and Figure 2 is a vertical section through the pool of Fig. 1.
In the drawing a pool comprises a plurality of inner surround members 1, defining the inner circumference of the pool, a plurality of outer surround members 2 defining the outer circumference of the pool, and a flexible sheet 3 acting as a pool liner.
As can be seen from Fig. 2 the sheet 3 rests on the ground 4 and the inner surround members 1 rest on the sheet 3. The edge of the sheet 3 is held between the inner and outer surround members 1 and 2.
Preferably, the inner and outer surround members 1 and 2 are clamped together. In the embodiment shown in the drawing such clamping means are formed by coping members 5, placed over the top of the adjacent inner and outer surround members 1 and 2. Preferably, the edge of the sheet projects over the top of the inner surround members 1 so that it is held fast by the coping members 5. The pool may be filled with water to a level 6.
To make the pool more sturdy, the inner surround members may be held together by a wire, tape, strap or other suitable member 7 around the outer periphery of the inner surround members 1.
The wire, tape etc. may be accommodated in a recess or groove 8 formed in the outer periphery of the inner surround membersl.
The members 1, 2 and 3 may be shaped to form any desired shape of pool, e.g. circular, oval, square, rectangular etc. As shown in the drawing, for a circular pool the respective inner, outer and coping members 1, 2 and 3 may be identically shaped.
The member 1, 2 or 3 may be formed from concrete or any other suitable material. The liner 3 may be of rubber, P.V.C. or any other suiable waterproof sheet material.
1. A pool comprising a plurality of inner surround members defining the inner circumference of the pool, a plurality of outer surround members defining the outer circumference of the pool, and a sheet pool liner held adjacent the edge thereof between the inner and outer surround members.
2. A pool as claimed in claim 1, wherein clamping means are provided for holding adjacent inner and outer surround members together.
3. A pool as claimed in claim 2, wherein the clamping means comprise a plurality of coping members.
4. A pool as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the members are shaped to define a circular pool.
5. A pool as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the members are shaped to define a square or rectangular pool.
6. A pool as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein the respective inner and outer members are of the same size and shape.
7. A pool as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein means are provided for clamping the inner surround members together.
8. A pool as claied in claim 7, wherein the clamping means comprise a wire or tape.
9. A pool as claimed in claim 7 or 8 wherein the outer periphery of the inner surround members is recessed to accommodate the clamping means.
10. A pool substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
