Abstract

A cam shaft is formed by molding thereonto a green compact which will form an assembly component (20) made of a sintered alloy when subjected to liquid-phase sintering. Since notches (22) are formed in both side surface portions of the green compact which have a higher density than the central portion thereof, bending of the outer peripheral surface of the green compact caused by the liquid-phase sintering is evened out to ensure that the outer peripheral surface remains smooth.
