Abstract

A tripod with adjustable legs 2 has lateral stabilizing bars 8 on either side. Bars 8 have adjustable width and serve to give lateral support e.g. on stairs. Walkway 1 fits into box-section 3, and is secured by pin 4. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Safety stretch 2 This invention relates to the Safety Stretch 2.
At the present time a variety of items, such as steps, boxes, chairs and crates are used to reach to decorate and repair places beyond normal reach, usually with a great deal of aggravation and dis-regard for safety.
According to the present invention there is provided a height adjustable walkway comprising of two Safety stretches and a walkway inserted into each steel box of the safety stretches.
The Safety Stretch 2 comprises of adjustable tubular legs with a rectangularsteel box top section into which a walkway is fitted including the use of a stability pin. The legs are designed to fold up for easy storage. In addition the Safety Stretch 2 has two stabilising bars, adjustable for width to give lateral supportfor use on stairs and other awkward areas.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings:- Figure 1 shows the safety stretch 2 in use on stairs incorporating the use of a safety stretch 1 at the other end ofthewalkway.
Figure 2 shows the safety stretch 2 showing the lateral supporting stabilising bars.
Referring to the drawings the safety stretch 2 comprises of adjustable tubular legs 2 with a rec tangular boxtopsection 3intowhich a walkway 1 is fitted including the use of a stability pin 4. The legs 2 are designed to fold for easy storage. In addition safety stretch 2 has stabilising bars 8 adjustable for width to give lateral support for use on stairs and other awkward areas.
Before actual use the height adjustment and legs have to be locked into position with pins 7. And the walkway inserted and locked with pin 4. In Figure 1 the safety stretch 2 is shown in conjunction with safety stretch 1 as would be used on a stairs.
To dismantle the equipment remove pins4to remove the walkway and then remove adjustment pins 7 to collapse the legs. There is then three easy to move componants.
1. A walkway support adjustable by height called a safety stretch 2 meansforworking ata height beyond reach comprising a stand adjustable by movement of telescopic legs and lateral stabilising bars to either side.
2. Awalkway supportas claimed in Claim 1 comprising a walkway support with legs drilled for height adjustment by means ofthe insertion of a pin.
3. Tubularsleevefeetas claimed in Claim 1 or2 comprising means to support and retain the legs ofthe walkway support as claimed in Claim 2.
4. Locking pins as claimed in Claims 1,2 or3 wherein means are provided for locking the walkway supportatafixed height.
5. Two removable stabilising bars as claimed in Claim 1 adjustableforwidth by means of a locking devise means for providing lateral support to the safety stretch 2 as claimed in Claim 1.
