214,582. Willys-Overland Co., (Assignees of Grimm, G. E.). April 18, 1923, [Convention date]. Seat and seat backs, arrangement and disposition of.-In a motor vehicle of the kind adapted to be converted from a passenger vehicle into a van or a camping car, and having seats removably attached to the body of the car, the means for attaching the seats comprises hooks or the like projecting from the seats and adapted by a partial tilting movement of the seats to be attached or removed from sockets or the like on the body of the car. The vehicle is provided with two transverse seats, the rear one of which is removable to convert it into a van, or both seats are removable to enable a mattress to be laid on the floor when the vehicle is to be used as a camping car. The vehicle is provided with a floor and side and end panels, and the seats comprise seat-stools 14, 15, Fig. 1, consisting of frames 16 and depending flanges 17, 18, 19 the front one 19 being provided with rods or hooks 22, Fig. 6, adapted to hook into one of a series of three apertures 24 arranged in a plate secured to the floor. The seats 40, 41 are positioned on the stools by flanges 20, 21 and the backs are secured to the back or sides of the car by hook or keyhole fastenings. These fastenings permit of the adjustment of the seats angularly and also longitudinally of the car.
