Abstract

A mixer tap is provided with a rosette (4) having a hole (2) for a drawbar (3) to actuate a bottom valve, the tap being turnable relative to the rosette. The hole may be inclined at 30 DEG -60 DEG to the rosette axis. When a tap without a drawbar is desired, a rosette without a hole is employed, the same mixer tap being used. The swivel spout (1) of the tap can turn freely regardless of the drawbar. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION A mixer tap The invention relates to a mixing tap to be mounted on a substantially horizontal table surface or on a sanitary article and comprising a movable swivel spout and a lead-in hole for a drawbar activating a bottom valve.
In connection with mixing taps interest attaches to a turnable swivel spout. Some interest also attaches to a drawbar for a bottom valve. It is, however, difficult to provide a transverse hole for a drawbar because of the sealing requirements presented to swivel spouts. It is also known to manufacture mixing taps with transverse holes, which are optionally plugged when no drawbar is desired. This is, however, not satisfactory.
The lead-in hole for the drawbar according to the invention is provided in a separate loose rosette, the tap being turnable relative to said rosette. This rosette is replaceable by a rosette without a lead-in hole.
When a tap with a drawbar is desired, a rosette comprising an inclined hole is employed, and when an armature without a drawbar is desired, a rosette without a hole is employed. In this manner the storing is simplified as the same mixing tap can be used in both cases. In addition, the swivel spout of the mixing tap can turn freely regardless of the drawbar of the mixing tap which activates the bottom valve.
The invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawing illustrating a tap to be mounted on a substantially horizontal tabletop.
The armature illustrated in the drawing comprises an outlet spout 1 turnable about the vertical axis of the tap, and a lead-in hole 2 for a drawbar 3 activating a bottom valve.
The lead-in hole 2 for the drawbar 3 is according to the invention provided in a loose separate rosette 4, the tap being turnable relative to said rosette. The rosette 4 is made of plastics and is of a height of about 1 6 mm.
The lead-in hole 2 in the rosette 4 forms an angle of 30-60" with the axial direction of the rosette. When no drawbar is to be used, the rosette 4 is replaced by a rosette without a lead-in hole. In this manner the storing is simplified as the same tap can be used in both cases, said tap simultaneously being less expensive.
The drawbar is preferably bent twice in such a manner that both ends thereof are parallel to the vertical axis of the mixing tap.
The rosette 4 is preferably of an internal diameter of 41 mm and an external diameter of 52 mm. The height is as previously mentioned 1 6 mm. The rosette may, however, be slightly lower when no lead-in hole for the drawbar is necessary.
When the mixing tap is to be mounted on a sanitary article, the lowermost portion of the mixing tap is situated in a corresponding socket in the rosette. The mixing tap and the rosette are subsequently fastened to the sanitary article by means of a fastening pin fixed in a threaded hole in the bottom of the mixing tap Now the mixing tap and the rosette are fastened to the sanitary article and the swivel spout 1 may turn about the vertical axis of the mixing armature. The drawbar is subsequently capable of following its vertical movement so as to activate the bottom valve at the same time as the swivel spout may turn.
The handle comprises a rod bar 7 and a separate cover 8, the rod bar being used for fastening the cover to the regulating pin 9.
Such a fastening implies that the rod bar 7 transfers its entire force to the regulating pin 9 without the cover thereby being loaded.
The rod bar is inserted in a recess in the side of the cover. Then the two parts are locked relative to each other and the handle is secured to the regulating pin 9 by means of a tightening screw 10 in the bar rod, a hole being provided in the side surface facing downwards of the recess. This hole is aligned with a hole in the inserted bar rod for receiving the regulating pin 9. The tightening screw in the rod bar is positioned substantially perpendicular to the inserted regulating pin.
The regulating pin 9 controls a regulating ball 11 communicating with some inlet channels 1 2 for cold and hot water, respectively, through some holes. The position of the ball determines the amount of water supplied. The cold and the hot water supplied are mixed in the regulating ball, whereafter it is discharged through two outlet channels 13, 14. These outlet channels communicate with the outlet spout 1 through an annular space 1 5. A rubber head gasket 1 6 is positioned above the ball 11 and is suitably fastened by means of a superjacent cover 1 7 which can be screwed into the mixing tap.
1. A mixer tap to be mounted on a substantially horizontal table surface or on a sanitary article and comprising a movable swivel spout and a lead-in hole for a drawbar activating a bottom valve, characterised by providing the lead-in hole for the drawbar in a separate loose rosette, the tap is turnable relative to said rosette.
2. A tap as claimed in claim 1, characterised by the rosette being of a height of about 16 mm.
3. A tap as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised by the lead-in hole in the rosette forming an angle of about 30-60 with the axial direction of the rosette.
4. A tap as claimed in any of the preceding claims 1 to 3, characterised by the drawbar being bent twice, whereby both ends of the bar are parallel to each other.
