Abstract
214,337. Warden, H. Jan. 22, 1923. Catches, spring.-An automatic catch for securing cigarette and like cases, is operated by a sliding plate on the front face of the case instead of the usual push-button on the edge. The catch comprises a bevelled hook-head 8 carried by a slide 5 on the underside of the dished half 1 of the case, with rivets 6 passing through slots 7 in the case to connect the slide with the plate 4. A spring 9 secured to the edge of the case at 10, keeps the catch in its operative position. The catch is released by moving the plate 4, which constitutes the " shield " of the case. The slide 5 may be cranked as shown by the dotted lines in Fig. 2, the plate then not occupying a central position. Only one rivet 6 and slot 7 may be employed if desired.
