Abstract

214,116. Hodgson, H. E. June 5, 1923. Rafts.-In rafts or buoys of the kind in which arms 3 with life lines and float devices radiate from a central buoyant portion 2 both body and arms are provided with recesses 12 to accommodate boxes containing food, clothing, equipment, &c. The boxes 16 are provided' at top and bottom with lids 13 secured by hooks, lock nuts being applied to the tips of the hooks. Smaller boxes are disposed in a circle around the central island body 2 and are lashed thereto by cable 18. These boxes are covered by cushions 19. In addition to the life lines 11, 9 with sinkers 10, long loops of rops 7 with foats 8 are provided.
