Abstract
214,040. Eisler, H., and Rely-a-Bell Burglar & Fire Alarm Co., Ltd. Feb. 23, 1923. Burglar alarms.-In a burglar alarm applied to a roller blind for protecting windows, contact plates G, H on the roller A co-operate with brushes L, M to complete a closed circuit through a relay P. The blind is kept lowered by means of a hook E and, if it is displaced, so that the roller turns, the contact is broken and an alarm given. When the plates move out of contact with the brushes L, M, they move into contact with brushes W<1>, X<1> so as to short-circuit the battery Q. The blind may be composed of a continuous 45 wire led to and from between the roller and a bar F at the free end of the blind, and included in the closed circuit by having its ends connected to the plates G, H. The wire may be coated with varnish or colour to render it inconspicuous. Wires may be woven into or attached to the material of an ordinary blind, or may be combined with blinds of the type with lougitudir al members held in position by transverse cords or wires. The roller may be arranged vertically at one side of the window. Specifications 121173, 167,361, and 186,787 are referred to.
