Description

SPECIFICATION A plough body with a two-part share The invention relates to a plough body with a multipart, preferably two-part, share consisting of the share blade and the share tip and which is detachably connected to the body trunk.
Such a share is that part of the plough body which is subjected to maximum wear and which is therefore connected to the body trunk by means of screws to facilitate the exchange thereof. It is known to divide the shares into the share blade and the share tip (DE PS 721 711) because the extent of the wear to which the individual parts of the share are subjected varies and it is therefore possible to reduce the expenditure of repairs and the spare part requirement if the share tip and the share blade are designed so as to be separate. It is however a disadvantage of the known divided shares that roots and straw, pieces of wire and similar material move between the contact surfaces or contact edges of these parts and stay there, thus causing an increased tractive power requirement and inhibiting the motion of the plough.By changing the position of the contact surfaces or edges one could prevent straw and similar objects from becoming lodged. However, this is impossible since an untroubled soil flow can only be achieved if the contact surfaces or edges extend in the direction of the soil flow. Straw and similar objects may furthermore be prevented from getting stuck in that the share tip and a base share located therebeneath are connected in such a way as is known from GB PS 1 287 383. However, because of the uneven construction of the base share and the share tip, this results in soil flow trouble, which also leads to an increased and disadvantageous tractive power requirement.
It is furthermore known to design the gap between the contact edges or surfaces of the share tip and the share blade so that it is partly transverse to the direction of the soil flow so as to prevent roots and similar objects from intruding in this manner (SE PS 69957). This arrangement, too, has considerable disadvantages. For, when one of the parts is exchanged, there comes about an impact edge which is disadvantageous and hinders the soil flow. In addition, the nose which is formed and which is indicated in Figures 2 and 5 of SE PS 69 957 is subjected to very considerable wear so that the gap is exposed prematurely and long before the final wear of the share tip. Then, the ingress of roots and other objects is again possible, so that the tractive power requirement is increased considerably.
The problem underlying the invention is to provide a plough body with a multi-part share which prevents straw and similar objects from getting stuck between the contact edges or surfaces of the share blade and the share tip and which, as a whole, forms a surface promoting the soil flow.
According to the invention, the problem is solved in that the share blade and the share tip are connected to the body trunk in a design in which they engage one with the other in the manner of a labyrinth.
A share designed in this way makes it impossible for roots and similar objects, more especially straw, to move between the contact surfaces or edges. The labyrinth-like, interengaging and moreover overlapping construction of the contact edges or surfaces, viewed in a top view, furthermore provides the possibility of ensuring a design of the entire share which promotes the soil flow even if one of the two parts is more worn than the other part or has already been replaced. In addition, this allows the usual tolerances, which cannot be reduced and compensated for at will during manufacture, to be readily maintained without there being formed along the contact edges or surfaces a gap which results in roots, wire or similar objects being lodged therein and in a partly considerably increased tractive power requirement. The individual parts of the share are screwed separately to the body trunk as before, the suitable labyrinth not hindering the fitting or dismantling of one of the two individual parts.
According to an expedient constructional form, the share blade and the share tip have corresponding step-shaped recesses along the contact edges or surfaces. It is possible to form or provide these step-shaped recesses in an advantageous manner without any large expenditure during the production of the share parts.
In order to bring about the desired labyrinth effect, it is expedient to provide for a depth of 4-10 mm, preferably 5mm, of the step-shaped recesses. As mentioned, recesses designed in such a way can be produced during the manufacturing process so that an additional expenditure for the production and consequently additional costs do not arise.
An arrangement and design ofthe recesses which is favourable for the shaping of the share tips, in particular, is that where the recesses are provided as far as the centre in the share tip and slightly beyond the centre in the share blade.
An optimum overlapping, which is adapted to the arising forces, in the zone of the contact edges or surfaces is given according to the invention in that the contact edges or surfaces of the share tip and the share blade extend approximately in the direction of the soil flow.
According to another development, the labyrinthlike interengagement of the share blade and the share tip can also be brought about in that the share blade and the share tip keys and slots which interengage on the contact edges or surfaces. Here, the share tip and/or the share blade are advantageously usable on either side of a reversible plough, that is to say there is no need for a separate fabrication and design on each side of a reversible plough. For an easier production, it is then expedient to form a key in the centre of the share tip and a recess eccentrically in the share blade, that is to say the complete design of a slot is dispensed with here in that one of the jags is omitted.
Over and above this, the contact edges or surfaces may be interengaging curves, prongs or waves in order thus to ensure a labyrinth-like interengagement of the share blade and the share tip.
The invention is particularly distinguished in that there is provided, without any additional expendi ture of material and production, a plough body which, despite the multi-part share, ensures an optimum soil flow even after prolonged use. On account of the interengagement according to the invention of the share blade and the share tip, an ingress of straw, roots or other objects cannot occur in the zone of the contact edges or surfaces so that an easy motion of the plough is always provided. At the same time, this also ensures the snug fit of the individual parts of the share in an advantageous manner and facilitates the fitting and dismantling of the individual parts. It is possible to produce the key and slot, the curvatures and similarly designed contact edges or surfaces of the share blade and the share tip while these are being manufactured, and this advantageously without increasing the production expenditure.
Further details and advantages of the subject matter of the invention will emerge from the following description of the accompanying drawings, in which preferred exemplified embodiments are shown with the details and individual parts necessary therefor. In the drawings Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a plough body which is arranged on the plough frame, Figure 2 a two-part share with the share blade and the share tip, Figure 3 shows a share tip in a perspective representation, Figure 4 shows a section in the longitudinal axis of the share blade and the share tip, Figures 5 to 7 show different constructional forms of the contact edges or surfaces between the share blade and the share tip.
The plough body 1 shown in Figure 1, with its curved mould-board 2 and the share 3, is connected to the plough frame 5 through the body trunk 4 and beam or body stem. The perspective representation of Figure 1 clearly illustrates that the share 3 performs essential functions for the separation of the soil ridge and the guidance thereof and is subjected to considerable wear on account of these functions. The mould-board 2 is adjoined by the mould-board extension 7. A unit 6, which serves as a guide, is fitted to the trunk 4.
The share 3 is in two parts and consists of the share blade 10 and the share tip 11. The two parts are separately connected to the body trunk 4 via indicated screws. The share blade 10 and the share tip 11 are designed so as to engage one within the other in the zone of the contact edges 12, 13.
Details thereof are shown in Figures 2 to 7. In the constructional form shown in Figure 2, step-shaped recesses 15, 16 are formed in the zone of the contact edges or surfaces 12, 13 so that, when the share blade 10 and the share tip 11 are joined, the interengagement thereof in labyrinth fashion, which is desired and aimed at, can be easily inplemented.
Figure 3 shows a share tip 11 with the step-shaped recess 16 in the contact edge or surface 13. Herein, the share tip 11 is shown in perspective, so as to allow the zone of the contact edge or surface 13 to be clearly shown.
Figure 4 shows a construction of the labyrinth connection between the share blade 10 and the share tip 11 in a section in the direction of the longitudinal axis 21,the labyrinth connection shown in Figures 2 and 3 being ilustrated as step-shaped recesses 15 and 16 respectively. According to Figure 5, there is provided a slot 27 and a key 28 and according to Figure 6 curves 29,30, which can be moved one within the other, in the zone of the contact edges or surfaces 12,13. Figure 7 finally shows a design of the slot 27 and the key 28 wherein the key is provided as a loose key and can be inserted into the slots provided in the share blade 10 as well as in the share tip 11.
