Abstract
A hand-held tool for removing condensation from flat vertical surfaces e.g. of glass comprises a body portion provided with a scraper blade at one end and a removable hollow handle at the end opposite thereto for collection of condensation moved by the tool. An absorbent material of sponge type may also be held on the tool.
Description
SPECIFICATION
Condensation remover
Hand tool for the removing of condensation from glass etc., whilst additionally wiping clean the surface with an attached suitable absorbent material.
Hand tool removes condensation from surface and retains it in the removable handle, which is detached easily for emptying.
Tool consists of two main bodys.
The head A) may consist of
A) The head.
B) The water retaining handle.
The head A) may consist of additional parts depending on manufacturing techniques.
The handle B) is of a tubular section and may be grip shaped or have a knurled type finish to assist grip.
The top is fitted to the handle via a slight interference fit to form water seal and is a wedge shape (scraper shaped), so when tool is wiped along surface in an upward direction the condensation is moved from the surface in to the head and through a transfer hole to the handle.
The handle is then emptied.
The additional operation of wiping the surface with an absorbent material is carried out by the material either following the scraper or be located at 1800. This would mean that the tool would have to be rotated 1 800 and the wipe operation done separately.
The absorbent material could be of a sponge type and held in a simple spring loaded jaws type fixture, being of the same width as the scraper blade.
Materials for manufacture are plastic and depending upon design additional items, possibly self-tapping screws or a hair spring with steel pin and clip may be required.
This is a light, easy to handle, easy storable tool. There are no such tools available (subject to your search).
Used for simple speedy and efficient removal of condensation from smooth surfaces. The surface is at the same time wiped by the removable washable absorbent material.
Tool could be used for domestic or industrial use and could vary in size.
