Abstract

The sponge snowbrush is an innovative tool used to clean snow & ice from vehicles without scratching the paint. The components of the brush are the rubber grip handle (1), the angled telescoping shaft (2), the spring loaded release buttons (2A) the brush head (3), the detachable sponge (4), the Velcro strips (4A) the detachable ice scrapper blade (5), and the ice scrapper blade storage slot (6). What makes this invention unique from all other snowbrushes is the fact that a sponge is used instead of the typical bristled brushes. This helps to prevent damage to the paint finish while snow is being removed.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Technical Field [0001]
  • This invention is similar to other tools used to remove snow & ice from vehicles. The sponge snowbrush relates to other brushes in that it is used for brushing away snow & ice, but the snow sponge brush utilizes a sponge instead of the typical bristle brush. [0002]
  • 2. Description of Prior Art [0003]
  • Typically house brooms and bristle brushes are used to remove snow from vehicles. The house broom was invented to sweep floors not cars, and the bristles on the typical snowbrush can scratch the paint. [0004]
  • The fact that a paint finish can be ruined with a house broom or bristle brush, makes the sponge snow brush with its rubber grip handle, angled telescoping shaft, detachable sponge, and ice scrapper blade ideal for snow removal. The sponge snowbrush makes snow removal faster, and is safer for the vehicles paint finish. [0005]
  • SUMMARY
  • The snow sponge brush is used to remove ice & snow from vehicles without scratching the paint finish. The apparatus consists of a rubber grip handle used to help prevent the apparatus from slipping out of the users hands. The metal angled telescoping shaft that extends from 1′-6″ to 3′-6″ to accommodate a wide range of vehicles. There is a brush head that allows for the attachment of the sponge, and the ice scrapper blade. The brush head also has a storage compartment for the detachable ice scrapper blade when it is not in use. There is a detachable sponge that is used in conjunction with the brush head to push snow off vehicles. The sponge is used to prevent scratching of the paint finish. The plastic detachable ice scrapper blade is used to scrape frost and ice build up from windshields. The storage slot on the head of the brush is used to hold the plastic ice scrapper blade when it is not being used to remove ice from windshields. [0006]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is the top, right side view in position one, and front view of the present invention. [0007]
  • FIG. 2 is the longitudinal section view of the present invention in position one. [0008]
  • FIG. 3 is the enlarged detail showing the detachable sponge, plastic ice scrapper blade with storage area, the spring release buttons, and the three holes to allow for shaft adjustments. [0009]
  • FIG. 4 is a plan and right side view of the present invention when it is in the second adjustable position [0010]
  • FIG. 5 is a plan and right side view of the present invention when it is in the third adjustable position [0011]

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Referring to FIG. 1 the sponge snowbrush is ideal for removing snow & ice from vehicles. The sponge snowbrush is an innovative tool used to clean snow from vehicles without scratching the paint. The components of the brush are the rubber grip handle ([0013] 1) used to help prevent the apparatus from slipping out of the users hands. The rubber grip handle (1) will have indentations that will allow for easy griping. The metal angled telescoping shaft (2) will be round, of a durable diameter that will allow for effective long lasting snow removal. The shaft structure will be made of a durable material preferably titanium or aluminum. The shaft (2) will also have three holes in the lower portion to allow for length adjustments. The shaft (2) can be adjusted by pushing the spring loaded release buttons (2A) and sliding them into one of the three holes in the lower shaft. The shaft adjusts from the shortest position (FIG. 4) of 1′6″ to the longest position (FIG. 1) of 3′-6″. The shaft is attached to the brush head (3). The brush head (3) also has a storage slot (6) for the ice scrapper blade (5) when it is not being used, and an area for the sponge attachment (4) The brush head (3) in conjunction with the sponge attachment (4) allows for easy removal of snow from the vehicle. The sponge attachment (4) when used in conjunction with the brush head (3) glides across the surface of the vehicle while pushing the snow off vehicles. Using the sponge (4) helps to prevent scratching of the paint finish. The plastic detachable ice scrapper blade (5) slides into the brush head (3) and is used to scrape frost and ice build up from windshields. A storage compartment (6) on the head of the brush (3) is used to hold the plastic ice scrapper blade when it is not in use.
