Vaporizing by heat.- Apparatus for producing vapours of disinfectants, medicaments &c. to be diffused into a room, or to be inhaled directly through a tube, comprises an outer cupshaped casing b, an electric lamp d mounted in a holder e at the base f of the casing, and an inner liquid-receiving vessel a which depends into the casing b and is formed at its base with an upwardly directed' recess c which encloses the lamp d but is spaced therefrom. The vessel a may be closed by a perforated cover g, Fig. 1, or by a cover h. Fig. 2, formed with an opening closed by a stopper i through which is passed an inhaling tube k. The vessels a, b may be formed of glass, porcelain, or sheet metal; the vessel a preferably being transparent and the casing b either transparent or perforated, The Specification refers also to known apparatus wherein a liquid-receiving vessel is either in the form of a hood fitting directly on the electric lamp or in the, form of a bowl fitted to the cover of the outer casing.
