Abstract

The process is characterised by mixing or immersing the material-input (plastics, rubber etc.) preferably at an increased temperature with one or more liquid hydrocarbons (e.g. pyrolysis oil, partly hydrogenated aromatics etc.) before the pyrolysis. This causes a shortening of the duration of the pyrolysis afterwards, at an increased temperature (700 DEG C) a reduction of the H2O-portion of the condensate as well as an increase in the yield of liquid pyrolysis products.

Description

SPECIFICATION Process to increase the yield of pyrolysis oil and to shorten the duration of the pyrolysis Object of the invention is a process to increase the yield of liquid products by the the pyrolysis and to shorten the duration of the pyrolysis.
At present there are already existing a multitude of pyrolysis processes to gain liquid products, in which the main stress is lying partly on different fractions, substances etc.. DE-PS 424724 is designed to gain low boiling hydrocarbons and DE-PS 2432425 to gain high- boiling hydrocarbons. Some more pyrolysis processes to gain liquid products as chemical raw materials, fuels for heating purposes, fuels etc. are mentioned here substitutionally: DE-PS 635 098, DE-OS 2462 495, DE-OS 26 46 729, DE-OS 25 20 754, DE-OS 26 58 371, DE-OS 2400 284.
Moreover in DE-PS 27 31 810 a special process for the use of high-boiling pyrolysis oil is described.
The production of liquid, storable products is also getting more and more important concerning the substitution of petroleum or tar products.
The objective of the invention therefore is to increase the portion of liquid components of the pyrolysis products.
This objective is achieved by the claims 1 1-4.
The extent of solving or swelling, as a result of the treatment, depends e.g. on the material (-input), the temperature, the pressure, the duration, the used hydrocarbons etc. (see literature; conc. rubber e.g.: E.
Flucke "Zum Quellverhalten ausgewähiter Gummitypen in Transformatorenöl" - Plaste und Kautschuk 15 (1968) No. 5 pp. 362f.).
The pyrolysis of partly or completely swollen and/or solved material or of mixtures containing this material is causing an increase of the liquid and, as well not depending on the pyrolysis process used later on, has further advantages, e.g. as follows: - Shortening of the duration of the pyrolysis, which has a positive effect on the throughput as well as on the specific energy consuption.
- At higher temperature, preferably above 100 C the portion of highly polluted water at the condensation of liquid products is clearly reduced.
- The process allows furthermore a high flexibility concerning the used hydrocarbon (mixture) and can be coupled with pyrolysis processes (e.g. see: level of technology) possibly additional.
Example 1-3 example 1 example 2 example3 rubber granulates weighed portion 100g 100g 100g (1-4mm) hydrocarbon added --- pyrolysis petroleum oil from scrap rubber (140 -220 C) quantity --- 33,4g 33,49 duration of swelling --- 3 hours 3 hours and temperature )+ at 120"C at 120"C duration of pyrolysis 100 min. 80 min. 80 min.
pryolysis products change change (weighed percentage) liquid: oil 42,4 45,5 (+7,3%) 45,5 (+7.3%) H2O (incl. solved 2,8 1,6 (-42%) 1,8 (-35%) substances) )+ cooling to room temperature before pyrolysis begins (at direct case saving of energy and further shortening of the duration of the pyrolysis possible) It was pyrolysed (in example) under absence of air and a slow rise of temperature up to 600"C.
The increase of liquid products is connected with a (indirectly fixed difference pyrolysis products-weighed portion) reduction of the gaseous products (22,9-25,9%, results of several tests).
