Porous-block and like burners.-A metaldehyde &c. burner with a resilient feed device has a stop for the fuel in the form of a central plate P placed over the middle part of the block B and connected by arms A to the burner posts T. The arms convey heat from the outer parts of the flame to the stop plate which effects vaporization of the central part of the block and so ensures a constant flame. An arm G which can be used as a handle is adapted to be turned over the block before the flame is extinguished and has projections Z which press the block out of contact with the stop plate. Specification 181,512 is referred to.
