212,632. Weber, G. E. Dec. 12, 1922. Ticket punches.-Relates to means for actuating the counting apparatus. A thumb-lever 24 pivoted at 2 to a back plate 1 engages a recess in and actuates a punch slide 8 against the action of a spring 6. The slide 8 is guided between ribs 9, and by a stud 5 on the back plate, and has mounted upon it a punch 19 in which slides a ticket feeler 12. A spring actuated locking pawl 11 pivoted at 21 to the slide is arranged to engage a recess 10 in the back plate until released by the feeler 12 when the latter contacts with a ticket inserted in the slot 18 in the stationary part 16. On release of the pawl 11 the punch may slide freely. The counter 32 is adapted to be actuated on the return stroke of the slide 8. An arm 34 in the counter spindle 33 is engaged by a pin 35 on the slide, and a light spring 36 draws the arm back to register an actuation when the slide returns to normal position. Adjustment of the pin 35 is effected by bending it. The hammer 7 of the bell 4 is capable of universal movement, and consists of a piece of coil spring or the equivalent secured to the stud 5. A pin 31 on the end is engaged by a finger 30 on the lever 24 when the latter is actuated, but on the return of the lever the pin rides over a chamfer on the end. The front cover, Fig. 4, is cast in one piece with the exception of the lid for the clippings box, and is secured to the back plate 1 by screws. The plate 45 has a stud entering a hole 46 in the cover, and is secured by a spring plunger 47 entering a catch 48 rendered tamperproof by a s'ip-in seal card.
