Abstract
The device is a means of retaining and securing a side of a signcase by the use of expansion springs. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
A device to improve the access into and visual appearance of signcases
The device is a means of retaining and securing either one end, a top and bottom of a signcase by the use of expension springs.
The springs are used in pairs per section required, one spring at either end. (A particular or unusual situation could result in only one spring being used, by the same token it is possible that more than two springs might occasionally be required). One end of the spring is secured within the main section of the signcase and the other end is secured to the retainer on access section. This eliminates the use of screws or any other type of fastener and gives a clean exterior appearance to the signcase.
The spring allows one section of the signcase to be easily pulled away from the main section, sufficiently to allow the sign panel (of whatever material) to be slid out past the section. Thus giving access to the signcase interior for both sign erections and subsequent maintenance. When the section is allowed to return to its original position the replaced panels are held securely in place.
The springs shall be manufactured from whatever material shall be deemed necessary for any specific situation. The length and circumference of the springs, also the tension, shall be that required to suit a specific situation.
The springs are to be secured in position by the means of bolts, but any other method of spring retention can be used: should they be required or rendered necessary by the individual characteristics of a particular type of signcase.
