Abstract

An apparatus (Fig. 4) for removing oil, floating debris, and other waste matter floating on the surface of a body of water. Water under pressure is forced through apertures (26) in a pipe (24) extending in a horizontal direction beneath the surface of the water to create a jet action to develop a wave carrying the oil and debris. The wave moves a member (27) to carry the oil and debris into a receiving area.
