Abstract

212,356. Macartney, R. H. Jan. 13, 1923. Ironing-boards. - On the movable portion 12 of a table top are pivoted two displaceable ironing boards 1, 2 by a common pivot 30, which carries a wing-nut to render the top board independently rotatable. The lower board 2 is held above and clear of the table top by supports 9, which carry a base foot extension 31, the whole being rotatable. An iron-rest 32 with a thin metal top 35 is hinged to the distance block 34 on the upper board 1, and is normally adapted to rest horizontally on the top of the pivot 30. When the movable part 12 of the top is inverted so that the links 13 are horizontal the weight of the ironing-board is partly taken by a supporting member 22<1> attached to the table framework. When the ironing-boards are in use, the movable portion 12 may rest on the fixed portion 4 of the top or on a level therewith. Specification 192,169 is referred to.
