Pneumatic - tyre pressure gauges.-A fluid-pressure gauge particularly suitable for attachment to pumps for inflating pneumatic tyres is fitted to the pump cylinder or other container in such a way that the fluid under pressure may be admitted to or released from the pressure gauge by moving the 'gauge relative to the container. On the gauge 1 is provided a stem 2 having a passage 3 communicating with the gauge, and also by a port 4 with an annular space between the stem 2 and a sleeve 5 which is adapted to be screwed into the wall 18 of the container. A spring 10 arranged between the gauge body 1 and the head 6 of the sleeve 5 acts normallv to hold the head 8 of the stem 2 against the end of the sleeve, and so prevents access of pressure fluid to the gauge. while at the same time the gauge is open to atmospheric pressure through the annular space and a port 15. When it is desired to take a reading, the gauge body is depressed, as by a forked lever 16, Fig. 3, and the movement of the head 8 permits access of pressure fluid to the gauge. A cup washer 12 closes the atmospheric port 15. The head 8 may be fitted with a washer 9. and a washer 7 is provided between the port 6 and the container wall 18. In a modification the cup shaped washer 12 is replaced by a flat washer. The washer 9 may be formed of cup shape. The apparatus may be further modified by arranging the gauge body 1 and its stem 2 to have rotary motion relatively to the container, in which case suitable ports are arranged in the stem 2 and sleeve 5, or a straight or skew groove may be formed on the stem 2. When cup shaped washers are used at the ends of the annular space; the ports may be arranged in the cup leathers. '
